Sing a long

Hi!

Today was a very good but quiet Monday here at school as we had only 16 friends in attendance! Many friends have already begun their holidays in warm, tropical areas and I think a few friends are, unfortunately, still under the weather. Mr. Kneebone is still away and we miss him a lot! We hope he returns to school soon but only when he is healthy and strong again!

Our day began with a read aloud, Howard B. Wigglebottom: and the power of Giving: A Christmas Story. We meet our favourite bunny, Howard B. Wigglebottom again and we see how he learns to give and think of others rather than himself. We talked about the author’s main idea and how important it is to give and how GOOD it feels to give and care for others who are in need. The children enjoyed this story and we discussed the parts of the story that we liked or thought were important. Interestingly enough, the children really liked how Howard B. Wigglebottom was able to get home and they concluded that it was unsafe for a bunny to be alone without his parents. Smart children we have!! 🙂

We  had a lot of opportunity for playing, creating and sharing with friends at play time in the morning as well as in the afternoon. As the children said, we even got to “Play in FRENCH”!!!! We are almost finished our special project for you and I hope to send them home in Mr. Zippy tomorrow for you!!! They are so pretty and smell so good!…

The highlight today was singing in the gym with Mrs. McIntyre  and the other Kindergarten students at WEJ. Mrs. McIntyre played the piano and we sang many seasonal songs together as a collective group of 120 students! WE sounded amazing and the children enjoyed singing and listening to Mrs. “Mac” play! A big thank-you to Mrs. McIntyre for sharing her musical talents with us all!

Tomorrow is “Rudolph” day…paint your nose red day!

Looking forward to the day!
